LOGISTICS MANAGER

 

Reports To: The Logistics Manager reports to VP of Operations.

Job Overview:

The Logistics Manager is responsible for the timely and accurate route planning and

dispatch support for the company delivery and installations operation. Responsible for

ensuring the right products are delivered and/or installed to the right location on time to

the quality required and in the most cost effective way. Oversees the customer call center

support team, daily operations and logistics employees.

Key Responsibilities:

● Strategy and Development Contribute to the creation and implementation of best

practice logistics vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve

operational performance

● Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising with internal stakeholders,

suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies and customers

● Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies and processes across

the organization to improve operational and financial performance

● Ensures a low-cost operating position by working with the Dispatch department and

Warehouse to manage effective delivery schedules and properly training delivery

associates.

● Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and

service within budgetary requirements

● Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs

● Negotiate rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providers and

recommend optimal transport modes, routes or frequency

● Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems or customer issues

● Review impact of logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes

or carriers and report results to others

● Assess and make recommendations for logistics processes in potential new facilities or

plants and advise of cost implications and efficiency

● Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost

optimisation opportunities

● Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or

processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, or shipping.

● Manage, coach and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and

delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements

● Develop and maintain strong relationships with all connected with the logistics process

Ensure all completed orders are dispatched on time

● Participate in carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification, or

performance evaluation.

LOGISTICS MANAGER

● Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product

Qualifications:

● Associates Degree or higher in a business-related field.

● Two plus years of proven experience in Logistics or Install field.

● Excellent executive-level communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

● Excellent English language skills, written and verbal. Additional languages are a plus.

● Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word

processing, managing files and records.

● Willingness to lead, take charge, and offer opinions and direction.

● Ability to analyze information and use logic to address work-related issues and

problems.

● Ability to maintain composure, keeping emotions in check, controlling anger, and

avoiding aggressive behavior, even in very difficult situations.

● Working knowledge of office equipment.

● Excellent customer service skills.

● Strong relationship building skills are a must.

● Ability to learn and assimilate information quickly.

● Enthusiast, strong work ethic and a positive attitude.

● Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.

● Must be able to move and/or lift up to 25 pounds.

● Must be able to work independently and exercise good judgment with no direct

supervision.

● Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to
