Reports To: Warehouse Coordinator
Job Overview:
A Warehouse Associate is a professional who is responsible for fulfilling the logistics behind receiving, processing and storing inventory according to purchase orders and company policy. They also ensure that shipping schedules are met with attention to detail to ensure timely delivery and loss prevention.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Processing, packaging and shipping orders accurately.
Inspecting products for defects and damages.
Oversees the pulling of inventories to ensure that field technicians have all of the required items to complete the assigned work. Conferring with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments and serving internal customers.
Maintains inventory and ensures that assets are protected and controlled.
Utilizes the computer system to maintain accurate inventory levels and costs.
Monitors the Receiving of incoming shipments, checking the purchase order against invoice with actual shipment for completeness and accuracy before placement in appropriate warehouse location.
Maintains an organized, clean and safe work & warehouse area. Observes all safety and Company rules and regulations in the performance of duties.
Qualifications:
Minimum two years of Warehouse experience required.
Must have experience with stocking and inventory.
Computer skills with an aptitude to learn new software applications.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to meet physical requirements including: a variety of standing, sitting and walking throughout the day; lifting and pulling inventory from shelves; regular lifting of up to 20 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, occasional.climbing of ladders.
Ability to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.
A valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
Background should include the ability to successfully handle multiple challenges, prioritize responsibilities, and effectively receive direction.
Desired Competencies:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Good written and verbal communication skills. Good computer skills and knowledge of company specific databases. Broad knowledge of procedures and practices of transportation and distribution methods.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Diploma or educational equivalent.
WORK EXPERIENCE: 2 years experience.
Effectively engage and communicate with company associates at all levels of the organization during the shipping/receiving process to earn their confidence and trust.
Concisely complete and make available warehouse material as required for each client.
